About Us Welcome to Parkway Auto Group, that consists of three locally owned and operated dealerships. Parkway Honda, Parkway Lincoln Mercury Nissan and Parkway Suzuki. The Parkway Auto Group had it's beginning in 1980. Glenn and John Mears (father and uncle of current owner Glenn Mears III ) acquired a small Honda dealership. In 1987 Glenn Mears III purchased, what then was Park Honda South, from his father and uncle. Under his direction and leadership, Park South Honda grew. During the years Park Honda/Parkway has earned many recognitions for customer satisfaction and overall dealership operation. From 1991 to 1994 the dealership earned the Master of Customer Satisfaction and in 1999, 2002, 2005 and 2006 we earned the Honda Presidents Award. In 2005 a new modern Honda facility was built next to its sister dealership on Commercial Parkway in Dover, Ohio. At which time we started doing business as Parkway Honda. Parkway Nissan Lincoln Mercury began as a motorcycle dealership in the 1970's by Jack and Suzanne Nemetz. A few years later Nissan automobiles were added, then a few years after that the Lincoln Mercury franchises. At the time the automobiles were added a new building was constructed to display and service the larger automobiles. In 1986 this building was doubled in size to it's present dimensions. In late 2002 the business was sold to Glenn Mears. Because of the good reputation established by Parkway over it's existence the name was retained and then given to the other businesses owned by Glenn to become the Parkway Auto Group. Today the Parkway Auto Group consists of three separate locations with four franchises. Total sales are now nearly 13 times more than the single location acquired in 1987. Parkway Suzuki was begun when the Suzuki franchise was obtained in 2004. It was the first new new car franchise in Tuscarawas county in well more than a decade. Parkway Suzuki and Park Honda South sold and serviced cars from the same location from October 2004 until the Honda franchise was moved to Commercial Parkway in June 2005. At the same time the name was changed to Parkway Honda. Parkway Suzuki has remained at the New Philadelphia with Park Performance since 2005. Many years and changes have passed but we at Parkway Auto Group are still striving for the same goals, which are doing business with integrity and making that business easy as possible for our customers. We still pride ourselves as low pressure, small town dealers. We at Parkway Auto Group, feel that good people can accomplish extraordinary things. Our business is now eight times larger than it was twenty years ago, and we feel there is plenty more opportunity to continue this growth.
